Planners for third line of BG Subway selected, agreement worth EUR 23.4 million – Expansion of airport to Miljakovac planned as well

The companies China Railway Design Corporation Serbia-Ogranak Beograd, Louis Berger doo and Co-designing doo have been selected, following the tendering procedure, for the job of the preparation of project-technical documentation – Feasibility Study with a Preliminary Design and an Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the Line 3 of the Belgrade Subway. The decision on the awarding of the contract, which was announced by the PUC Belgrade Metro and Train, shows that the value of the agreed job is RSD 2.74 billion, that is, around EUR 23.4 million, with the VAT.

The subcontractors on the project will be the companies: Logo doo, Geomag doo, Institut za rudarstvo i metalurgiju Bor and Rudarski institut doo. Three more bids were sent in response to the tender, but this one was deemed the most acceptable, with the most allocated weighting factors.

The preparation of the project-technical documentation for Line 3, according to the tendering documentation, should be done in two stages, so that the first one encompasses the Bezanija and New Belgrade part with an extension toward the airport (the left bank of the river Sava), and the second the part from New Belgrade toward Banjica and the BIO4 Campus, as well as toward Miljakovac and Rakovica (the right bank of the river Sava).

The planner will prepare several options for the solution of the route of the subway Line 3 (a minimum of three) with elements of a general project, and the planner will also be obliged to project the number of passengers on Line 3 and do an expert analysis of the impact of this line on the water springs in New Belgrade.
