Honeywell ready to get involved in operations of Innovation District in Kragujevac

Mihailo Jovanovic, Director of the Office for IT and e-Government, and Mihai Brana, Managing Director and Site Leader Honeywell Romania SRL, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore cooperation in information technology and innovation, the Office announced.

Jovanovic pointed out that Honeywell was another foreign company that had shown willingness to participate in the future Innovation District in Kragujevac.

He estimated that it was very important that leading global companies in the field of information technology recognized the significance and potential of Serbia’s innovation infrastructure, Kragujevac's position as a sort of Silicon Valley of Serbia, the quality of Serbia’s experts, and that even at that point, several months before the first building of the Innovation District was to become operational, they wished to position themselves with their ideas for technological innovations, digitalization, and the development of new solutions.

– Our future technological cooperation through the Innovation District in Kragujevac aims to initiate potential innovations in areas such as process automation in construction and energy efficiency, the implementation of digital promotional activities to raise awareness and training programs for citizens and businesses, as well as knowledge transfer – said the director of the Office.

Brana said that the partnership represented a significant step towards fostering innovation and academic excellence.

– Together, we will cultivate a robust ecosystem that empowers students and professionals, preparing them for the challenges of tomorrow’s technology landscape – he pointed out.
