First building of Innovation District in Kragujevac to be completed in 2025, another two by 2027

The first building of the Innovation District in Kragujevac will be completed in 2025, announced the director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Dr Mihailo Jovanovic.

– In Kragujevac, in the next three years, around 35,000 m2 of the Innovation District will be built, which will consist of three buildings: the central facility, which will be the “heart” of the district, and two buildings meant for the users of the State Data Center – he said after a meeting with mayor Nikola Dasic and representatives of the University in Kragujevac, the Science Fund, the corporate sector and the Office for IT and eGovernment.

Jovanovic pointed out that, in the draft budget for 2025, the Government of Serbia had allocated a net amount of around EUR 55 million to the Office for IT and eGovernment for the construction of the Innovation District in Kragujevac, in the period between 2025 and 2027.

He reminded that the Innovation District in Kragujevac was one of the key strategic projects of innovation infrastructure of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, implemented by the Office for IT and eGovernment, and added that it was a logical continuation of the construction of the State Data Center.
