The Government of Serbia has adopted the proposed amendments to the Law on Road Traffic Safety, which should solve the problem of an insufficient number of professional drivers, the government announced.

These solutions, as pointed out, facilitate the procedure for the obtaining of the certificate of professional competence, that is, practical training and a practical test, considering the great pressure from the transport community due to a lack of drivers.

– The implementation of these amendments to the law would mean that the drivers who transport cargo and passengers in the territory of Serbia will be able to continue doing their job without the issuing of new documents, whereas the drivers who do international transport of cargo and passengers, in order to move freely outside the borders of Serbia, will have to submit a request for the issuing of a new driver’s license which will contain the international code “95”, with a validity period of seven years from the date of the issuing of the card at the most – the government points out in its announcement.
