Feniksbus building midibus factory in Novi Sad on 19,000 square meters

On a property of 19,029 square meters in Jegricka Street, the plan is to build a production hall with an administrative part, as well as a warehouse of flammable matters, which is why, last year, the City Administration for Environmental Protection adopted the decision saying that the preparation of the environmental impact assessment study was necessary. The investor filed the request for giving approval to the study, which was available for public inspection until November 12.
The production hall will have an elevated ground floor in one section and an upper floor in one section, and the administrative part will have two upper floors, whereas the warehouse of flammable matters will be a ground-floor facility.
In the request for deciding of the necessity of an environmental impact assessment study, it was explained that the technical procedure of the production of the buses and extensions at the factory entailed the preparation of the parts, the production of extension skeletons, the preparation of the chassis, assembling the skeleton with the chassis, the interphase surface protection of the skeleton and the application of external coverings. That includes the production of parts made from fiberglass, the preparation and the final painting of parts and buses, the mounting of interior bus elements, the mounting of the doors, external and internal trunks, lids and handles, the mounting of the seats, finishing works, cleaning, removal of stains and the final testing and inspection before the delivery, including the removal of minor flaws.
Feniksbus currently produces buses in the halls of the former chemical company HINS in Novi Sad. The company delivered the first midibuses to the public transport company JGSP Novi Sad 2019, for which nearly RSD 100 million was set aside from the city budget. Such vehicles, powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), mostly operate the less busy lines. It was the first time after 12 years that buses to operate lines in Novi Sad came from that city. The midibus is based on the chassis Iveco Daily 70C with a Euro 6 engine and an automatic 8-speed transmission, on which Feniksbus put a body in Novi Sad.
