Bulgarian company to take over 11 Kraljevo pharmacies?

The Bulgarian company Sopharma Trading has announced that its Serbian branch, Sopharma Trading doo, has bought the company Great Pharmacy, which, as said, manages a portfolio of 11 pharmacies in the Kraljevo area.

This acquisition is part of the company’s strategy of the development of the retail segment in Serbia, reports FFBH, a leading Bulgarian provider of brokerage services.

Let us remind that, in June this year, eight facilities of Apotekarska ustanova Kraljevo (owned by the City), were leased for 10 years by the consortium of AU Great Pharmacy Loznica and AU Filly Farm Velika Plana, at a price of RSD 721,000 in total.

Previously, dissatisfied with the decision to put the pharmacies up for lease, the employees of Apotekarska ustanova Kraljevo initiated an official procedure for the collection of 10,000 signatures necessary for the opening of a referendum where the citizens of Kraljevo would have their say about the fate of this company.

Apotekarska ustanova Kraljevo has existed for 150 years, has 31 pharmacies and employes 97 university-educated pharmacists and pharmacologists and covers the medical drug needs of both Raska and Vrnjacka Banja.

Back in 2019, Sopharma took over the Serbian pharmaceutical company Lekovit, and last week it opened its first pharmacy under the Sopharmacy brand in Serbia.
