As of next year, foreign tourists in Serbia will have their "guardian"! In case of any problem, unpleasant situation or confusion, foreigners will be able to call Jovan Nedeljkovic. Like a superhero, he will come to their rescue and solve the problem.
- A conclusion we drew at a meeting of the Balkan Alliance of Hotel Association (BAHA) is that tourists find "lack of security" the main problem of the Balkan countries, and we decided to eradicate that fear - says Bato Krivokapic, director of HORES (the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Serbia).
- Most foreigners come to the Balkans to see several countries and all of them wonder if these countries are safe to stay in. The feeling of security is the main reason why they choose to stay in expensive hotels of the world-famous hotel chains although our offer includes high-quality domestic accommodation.
It was agreed at aforementioned meeting of BAHA to make a Balkan Security Guide, which should offer various information and answers to various questions, including the exact crime rate, the chances for a tourist to be mugged, is it safe for tourists to ride on a city bus or take a cab... This brochure is already under preparation. Once completed, brochures will be distributed at border crossings, and they will also include the names of all people who are directly in charge of helping foreign tourists.
