New Chinese shopping center opens in Belgrade – EUR 60 million invested, jobs for one thousand people

After two years of construction, the new Chinese shopping center has opened in Belgrade. The investment is worth EUR 60 million. A thousand workers have been employed.

The new Chinese shopping center “Eurasia” is located in Jurija Gagarina Street in New Belgrade.

When the second phase of the project is finished as well, there will be around 460 outlets with side features and parking spaces on 24,000 square meters, which makes it the biggest and most modern Chinese trade center in Europe.

– The future has already arrived. This is a golden opportunity for Serbia, and also for all us Chinese who live in Serbia. I am looking forward to witnessing the future of Serbia together with you all – says Zou Junwei, the executive director of Eurasia Trade Center.

The new shopping center is the result of joint efforts of Chinese business people, with support from the Government of Serbia.

– The Free Trade Agreement between China and Serbia is heading in the right direction. The trade exchange is growing, but there is potential for even better results. This center is an incentive to further practical cooperation and fortification of the steel friendship of the two countries – said Li Ming, the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Belgrade.

Both safety and comfort

On Sunday, the first official Belgrade-Guangzhou flight is to take place, and by the end of the year, there will also be an air connection between Belgrade and Shanghai, which is the third line from Belgrade to China.

– We are a small country and we are proud of the cooperation and friendship with the People’s Republic of China. We are grateful to You for respecting us and not conditioning the friendship on any political or any other concessions, but instead trying to respect our territorial integrity and the interests of our republic traditionally and consistently – stated the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic.

The new shopping center was built in line with the highest standards of safety and comfort for the traders, that is, outlet owners, and the customers.

According to the Chinese custom for a prosperous state and the safety of the citizens, the realization of wishes and a better future, it is good to draw the lion’s eyes. And there’s also that Serbian custom – in order for the business to get going, you should buy something.
