Lozionica, Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia and Center for Promotion of Science to launch strategic cooperation in creative industries

The Creative-Innovative Center Lozionica and the Serbia Creates platform have signed the Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation with the Research and Development Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia and the Center for Promotion of Science.

The strategic cooperation primarily pertains to the use of science, innovations and artificial intelligence in the field of creative industries, especially focusing on people’s creativity, intellectual capital, harmonization of technologies and people, as well as technologies and nature. This cooperation will contribute to the overall development of the creative industries in Serbia, but also incite the use of artificial intelligence to the end of strengthening people and the progress of the entire society and economy, announced the Center for Promotion of Science.

– By joining forces, Lozionica will realize its mission, which is for the first Serbian center of creative industries to become the driving engine of Serbia in the upcoming Industrial Revolution 5.0. Serbia is already globally recognized as an important partner when it comes to artificial intelligence, which is why it was recently elected to preside over the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence. Also, we have the Strategy of the Development of Artificial Intelligence which envisages its application in education, economy, public sector, and we are also recognized in the world as a country of talented scientists, innovators, artists. We should now use that knowledge and the excellent international position to the end of the development of the creative sector, science, knowledge-based economies and support to our talents – points out Ana Ilic, the director of Lozionica and the Serbia Creates national platform.

Danijela Vucicevic, the acting director of the Center for Promotion of Science, estimated that the signing of the memorandum was the beginning of a new era for Lozionica and that she saw it as the backbone of the modern story of the industrial legacy.

– Combined with scientific research, technologies and art, through the creative industries, I am sure that we will produce good ideas and projects, and they will undoubtedly contribute to the world we live in. Lozionica is certainly a place which belongs to those who see the possibilities before they become obvious – she pointed out.

Dr. Dubravko Culibrk, the acting director of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia, said that the aim was to achieve cooperation with the creative industries in Serbia, because that was one of the priority sectors for development.

– I expect our institute to have a certain space in Lozionica, which will serve for future cooperation and further development. Considering that generative artificial intelligence has a great potential for impact on the creative industries, and not just from the aspect of technical application, but also from the aspect of ethics and a responsible use of artificial intelligence, we are looking forward to the cooperation with Lozionica and the Serbia Creates platform – he said.
