This is the plan for the construction of 107 km of the gas pipelines from Zlatibor to Prijepolje and from Tutin to Sjenica – Works commissioned by Millennium Team

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia has put up for public inspection the Draft Spatial Plan of the Special-Purpose Area with Elements of Detailed Regulation for the Distribution Gas Pipeline Zlatibor-Prijepolje with Legs toward Priboj and Nova Varos and the Distribution Gas Pipeline Glogovik-Sjenica.

The planning authority is the Spatial and Urban Planning Agency of Serbia, and the plan is commissioned by Millennium Team doo Beograd.

The plan which was prepared by the Institute for Architecture and Urban Planning of Serbia aims to build distribution gas pipelines on the route from Zlatibor (municipality of Cajetina) toward Nova Varos, Priboj and Prijepolje and from Glogovik (municipality of Tutin) toward Sjenica.

The borders of the Spatial Plan encompass an area of 861 ha and two separate gas pipeline systems of a total length of around 107 km and a width of around 600 m.

The linear part of the gas pipeline is planned as a single-tube system, which is to be entirely set up underground.

The project of the construction of the gas pipeline, the document points out, will secure the gas supply and development of primarily Priboj, Nova Varos, Prijepolje and Sjenica.



The plan says that the priority of the development of the gas sector in Serbia is to secure the gas pipeline infrastructure in all parts of the country and to connect the system with the systems of the neighboring states.

– That would enable supply to the natural gas market from other supply directions as well and realize, in practice, the idea of the natural gas market from the Energy Community Treaty – it is pointed out.

Let us remind that, at the end of 2021, Srbijagas borrowed EUR 40 million for the gas supply of the Zlatibor District, and previously, the general manager of Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, announced that the works on the gas pipeline from Zlatibor to Prijepolje could start in early March.

Last year, the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced the construction of a gas pipeline toward Vranje as well, through Zlatibor to Nova Varos, Prijepolje and Priboj.
