That the problem of unconscientious drivers who perform taxi services by charging astronomical prices to passengers on the routes between the Nikola Tesla Airport and the rest of the capital city has not yet been fully solved is shown by the most recent example in a range of similar ones. One taxi driver, as B92 reports, charged a ride from the airport to Belgrade Waterfront as much as EUR 100 to a foreign national, but he was subsequently met with a reaction he had not expected.

The taxi driver charged about six times more than the realistic price, or the price determined by the price list, but he didn’t count on the tourist being a frequent guest in Belgrade, who knew what the price of a taxi ride from the airport to the city center cost. The tourist also knew how to report the taxi driver if he noticed any irregularities.

– Those in charge reacted fast and I believe that this example will show that excessive charging can be sanctioned through inspection work and by magistrates – said Zlatan Zlatkovic, the director of a taxi association.

According to Zlatkovic, the current situation at the airport is better compared to the previous period.
