Prokop to Get Direct Highway Connection – Access Route for Future Main Entrance to Rail Station to Be Built

In addition to the existing ones, there is also the plan to build new access routes to the Belgrade Center rail station, stated the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure, Goran Vesic.

Vesic points out that it is the job of the city administration, which was done while he was the deputy mayor of Belgrade.

– Expropriation was done. It is Malesko Brdo, and the new entrance will be from the highway, so that you don’t have to enter Kneza Aleksandra Karadjordjevica Blvd. The current upper entrance will remain, but the main entrance will be from the lower side. It will not all be over by October 20. There will be a station building, and the City of Belgrade will then do that access from the highway together with us – Vesic says.

The works on the building of the main Belgrade rail station Prokop have been intensified and the outlines of the final look can already be seen. While a glass façade is being mounted on the steel structure, the building’s interior is being developed for commercial features and a connection with the platforms. The opening to passengers has been announced for October 20.
