This practically means that Jurija Gagarina Street would be extended in order to be connected with the future fast route New Belgrade-Surcin under construction, enabling a connection with the South Adriatic highway.
Read more:
The extension of Jurija Gagarina Street to the highway bypass route is planned with a median strip 14 meters wide and three driving lanes in each direction, each with a width of 10.5 meters, with the length being around 1,550 m.
In the extension of Jurija Gagarina Street, the plan is to also extend the tram railway in the length of around 1,100 m, with a turnaround right next to the planned commercial zone. The tram track zone will be located in the middle part of the planned street and it will be a two-track tram route, with a width of 7.5 m, according to the technical specification of the job.
Along the new traffic route, two bus stops and two tram stops are planned in each direction.
On both sides of the driving lanes, a green belt 2 meters wide is planned, as are two-way bicycle lanes of 2.5 m and sidewalks of 2 m.
A network of secondary streets is planned as well – Nova 14, Nova 15 and Nova 16, as well as driving-pedestrian path.
A connection to the state road needs to be designed as well.
The engineering design job has been estimated at RSD 65 million, and the tender is open until February 2.
