Additional Discount for Those Who Save Electricity Announced

The state will not have to worry about heating, and those who reduce their consumption will get an additional discount, the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said at a media conference following the session of the Council for National Security.

– All those who reduce their consumption of electrical energy by 5-20% will get an additional discount of 10% on the bill which calculates the consumption and the distribution costs. I will request it to be a 15% discount. Those who reduce their consumption by over 30% will have a 30% bill discount. EPS will thereby lose a part of its income, which the state will compensate for, because we are spending a huge amount of money on the import of electrical energy – the president said.

Vucic explained that this model should start functioning from October and that the only parameter to be observed would be the consumption in the current month compared to the consumption in that same month in 2021.
