The prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic said today, at the meeting with the president of the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia (SSSS), Lubisav Orbovic, and representatives of the Trade Union Organization of Fiat Automobiles Serbia, that she believed that Fiat would stay in Serbia in the next period as well, SSSS announced.

The press release by SSSS says that this information could lower the tensions which have been present in the past months among the employees at the Kragujevac factory, FoNet reports.

– Fear for the future and survival of the factory is justified, considering that, this year, the employees worked only seven days, whereas, at the same time, the workers are being invited for a three-month engagement in Slovakia – the union estimates.

In addition to Orbovic, the meeting at the Government of Serbia was also attended by the president and the vice president of the Trade Union Organization of Fiat Automobiles Serbia, Sasa Djordjevic and Ivan Ristic.
