New Rules for Taxi Drivers at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport

At the session scheduled for this Monday, the Draft Decision on Amendments to the Decision of Taxi Transportation will be put before the members of the City Assembly of Belgrade.

This decision should regulate the operations of taxi drivers at the Nikola Tesla Airport.

According to the decision, in the future, taxi drivers will register at the target position when arriving to the airport. The target position is located at the entrance to the parking space and the registration will put them on the ordered list of the electronic system for access to the taxi stops in the zone of the arrival terminal.

The taxi driver is then automatically put on the waiting list for the service and parks their vehicle on the marked spot. The taxi driver has to be in the vehicle or next to it during that time.

– Registration at the target position is not allowed in any other way except with a taxi vehicle, and the taxi driver accesses the zone of the arrival terminal automatically by being called out through the electronic taxi system. Passenger transport is carried out using the first vehicle in line, and if the first taxi driver refuses to transport the passengers, that taxi driver must leave the stop – says the decision.

The adoption of the decision will lead to another change when it comes to the operations of taxi drivers. Whereas the drivers were obliged to get their vehicles checked once a year, they will now have an additional obligation. If the road traffic inspector determines damage on the vehicle during the inspection procedure, they have the right to send the transporter to carry out an extraordinary testing of the suitability of the taxi vehicle for its purpose.
