Government Adopts Draft Law on Subway and City Railway

The Government of Serbia has adopted the Draft Law on the Subway and the City Railway, which pertains to the construction of the Belgrade subway, as one of the most complex infrastructure projects, which will be the foundation for the public transport in the capital of Serbia, the government announced.

– This law proposal will enable a quicker and simpler realization of the project, from the process of obtaining the land to the issuing of the necessary permits and accelerating the public procurement procedures necessary for its realization. The regulatory, technical and other conditions for a safe, reliable and regular traffic have also been defined – the announcement says.

The plan is for the realization of the project, which is worth a total of EUR 6 billion, to begin by the end of the year.
