Belgrade Soon to Develop River Transport as Part of Public Transport – Private Partner to be Sought

An item about the establishment of a public-private partnership for the implementation of river transport as part of the public line transport in Belgrade will be on the agenda of the upcoming session of the City Assembly of Belgrade, announced Mayor Zoran Radojicic, as reported by Beoinfo.

He emphasized that the City of Belgrade had nearly 200 kilometers of river coasts, which is a great pre-condition for the development of river transport of passengers. What’s important to emphasize is that the key condition of the development of river line transport of passengers is its integration with the existing public transport system in Belgrade. This means that all the terminals would have to have a connection with bus or tram transport, with the possibility of a transfer.

– Also, our aim is to include this form of transport into an integrated tariff system of the City of Belgrade, so that the passengers might use the services of river transport using the same card they use in other forms of public transport in Belgrade – Radojicic said.
