"L.A.B.B. Group" opened unit for production of reusable boxes with microchips in Šid - jobs for over 500 people

Company "L.A.B.B. Group" opened the unit yesterday (November 9, 2009) for the latest-technology production of reusable boxes for fruits and vegetables. The factory was put in operation by the President of the Executive Council of AP Vojvodina, Dr. Bojan Pajtić, in the presence of the Provincial Secretary of Science and Technological Development, Professor Dr. Dragoslav Petrović, and the Mayor of Šid, Nataša Cvjetković.

President Pajtić said that the value of that unit exceeded 300m RSD, 30m RSD of which had been provided by the Executive Council of AP Vojvodina through the Secretariat of Science and Technological Development.

Total of 75 people will be directly engaged in the process of production of reusable boxes with microchips, while over 500 people will be hired as collaborators.

This production is not specific only because the boxes have built-in microchips, which makes it unique in Serbia, but also because the price of these boxes is 50% lower than the price of a common reusable box.

The boxes are made of materials that are easy to recycle. They are rented to various manufacturers on daily basis and used for delivery of goods to buyers. The buyers then empty the boxes and have them thouroughly cleaned and washed in the wash-house.

Vladimir Pavlović, the IT Administrator, told "eKapija" that, thanks to the built-in microchips, the intelligent system utilizing radio waves "Radio frequency identification" (RFID) enabled tracking of boxes from the moment they left the warehouse to the moment they were returned to the wash-house.

- This system makes it possible for us to see where the boxes are at any moment, which manufacturer has the need for empty boxes, how many our empty boxes the clients have, and that makes it easier for us to organize transportation of new boxes to manufacturers and empty boxes from buyers on time - he said.

The company has already signed several contracts, including the ones with "Swisslion" from Vršac, the Association of Banat, and many others.
