- Niš-based company "Medica systems and products" has produced the first Serbian scanner for dental medicine - said Nikola Drezgić, the CEO of that company.

- We have produced a dental scanner, but it can also be used for computerized tomography for all bones in the head - Drezgić told Beta agency.

Dental scanner, of which price is 150,000 EUR, was made with domestic capital in the Niš-based company with the help of a partner from Italy.

Drezgić said that the scanner was necessary for inserting dental implants because it enables insertion of implants "without errors that are now frequent when no scanner is used".

- Scanning by this scanner takes 40 seconds, which means that the whole process lasts for up to five minutes, while the scanning when large scanner is used lasts for three to five minutes. Patient is exposed to 15 times smaller radiation than when large scanners are used - said Drezgić.

Dental scanners are also produced by companies in Germany, USA, South Korea and Finland.
