According to the announcements from the Directorate for Development of Municipality of Inđija, construction of the second part of the bypass around Inđija should start in few days.

Namely, it is the northeast branch, which will connect road R-109, as well as highway E-75, with the locations where IT park and "Grundfos" factory will be built. The Deputy Director of aforementioned Directorate, Milivoj Simić, says that it is the section about 5 kilometers long, of which construction will be financed from NIP and the budget of municipality of Inđija.

- We had two shorter sections of the bypass, each about 1 km long, built two years ago. This year, thanks to the project with which we applied for the funds from NIP, we are going to start construction of the northeast branch. The investment is worth 107m RSD, 80m RSD of which are provided from NIP, while the rest is set aside from the budget of the municipality of Inđija. The last section of the bypass should be built in 2010, and it will be passing through industrial zone, alongside factory "Henkel", while its end will be at the exit from Inđija, in the vicinity of the warehouse of the Apatin Brewer. This year we applied for the funds from NIP for that section of the bypass - said Simić.

Mayor Goran Ješić estimated that the construction of such junction was necessary because up to 30,000 vehicles passed through the center of Inđija every day, significant number of which are heavy freight vehicles, and that aggravates traffic flow.

- We are doing our best to finish construction of the bypass as soon as possible because traffic jams in the city are becoming intolerable. The bypass is the only, but very expensive solution, which can not be done over the night. Once it is finished, the frequency of traffic in settled place will be significantly smaller, as well as pollution from exhaust gases, and our children will be safer - said Ješić.
