The Minister in the Government of Serbia and the CEO of the Office for Sustainable Development of Underdeveloped Areas, Sulejman Ugljanin, announced few days ago in Belgrade that the works on construction of duty-free zone and industrial park in Leskovo near Tutin should commence soon. Ugljanin pointed out that it was big and significant economic project that should recover whole Sandžak, and that the entrepreneurs in other parts of Serbia and Montenegro would benefit from it as well.
The entrepreneurs from Diaspora and businessmen from abroad will be offered to invest and build, under very favorable terms, in industrial park Leskovo in Pešter, which is rich with cheap building land and qualified manpower. Future Belgrade - Požega – Jadran highway should be built in the vicinity of that location soon. According to the plan, the first phase includes construction of over 900 business units, each of which will employ minimum 10 workers. Construction of schools, kindergartens, residential facilities and other accompanying infrastructure is also in the pipeline.
First investors in duty-free zone and industrial park Leskovo should be businessmen from Turkey who will come to Pešter, most probably, in October, and they will be accompanied by the President of Turkey, Abdulah Gul, who has already announced his official visit to Serbia.
On the occasion of the recent visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Ahmet Davatogl, to Novi Pazar, it has been announced that Turkey will finance construction of about 50 kilometers of highway through Pešter, as well as completion of reconstruction of main routes Novi Pazar - Sjenica and Novi Pazar - Tutin.
