- The President of the Administration of Vienna Stock Exchange announced plans for expansion in the region and mentioned Belgrade Stock Exchange and Zagreb Stock Exchange as interesting markets. After expanding the business to Budapest, Prague and Ljubljana, Vienna Stock Exchange is now searching for new acquisitions - Heinrich Schaler, the President of the Administration, told Reuters.

Mr. Schaler said that Vienna Stock Exchange found Croatian, Serbian, Romanian and Bulgarian stock exchanges the most interesting for operations within the next three to five years.

Zagreb's media remind that certain speculations appeared at the end of March that the Vienna Stock Exchange planned to take over Zagreb Stock Exchange, but although the people from Vienna confirmed their interest, they denied that they had commenced negotiations. In the meantime, Vienna Stock Exchange has started the procedure for 100m EUR worth of additional capitalization in order to collect money to pay for earlier acquisitions.

And while nothing happens on the Belgrade Stock Exchange, Zagreb Stock Exchange is going to introduce new specialized market trend index Crobex 10 on September 7th. It will include ten securities from Crobex index with the largest "free-float" market capitalization and turnover.

- In order to improve both the process of informing investment public and transparency and comparability of data, Zagreb Stock Exchange has started working on design of new category of index, of which quality will resume positive trends introduced by forming of Crobex - said the people from the Stock Exchange.

The purpose of introduction of new index is development of more advanced tools for analysis and comparison of data from the market. Crobex10 will be much narrower index than standard Crobex index, and it is created as the base for development of investment products, such as index funds and structured products. The structure of new index will be revised every six months, one week after Crobex, and it will be measured on the basis of "free-float" market capitalization.
