Destiny of the largest exporter and enterprise in central Serbia - Jagodina-based holding "Kablovi", is uncertain. The deadline for purchase of dossier for the third tender has expired, and nobody has expressed interest in takeover of that company.
- This tender will be declared as unsuccessful because there are no interested strategic partners. But that does not mean that "Kablovi" lacks potential. The payment of salaries is regular, obligations to suppliers and creaditors are being services... - says Ratko Vučurović, the CEO of the holding, and points out:
- Export is at the same level as in 2008. About 60% of production is exported to the countries of EU, Russia, Near East and former Yugoslav republics. The state does not stimulate large exporters. We could increase export by over 50% if we had more favorable loans.
"Kablovi" exported 20m EUR worth of goods in 2008 and sold 20m EUR worth of cables in local market. This year, export is at the same level as in 2008, but the sales in local market are dropping since demand barely exists.
Total of 500 workers left "Kablovi" in June and received national social programme, so that company now has 2,350 employees.
Separated
Auction privatization of the unit of "Kablovi" in Rekovac will, also, be declared as unsuccessful because there are no interested buyers. In addition to that unit, the units in Ćuprija and Despotovac will be offered for sale separately from the units in Jagodina.
