The volume of exchange of goods between Russia and Serbia was reduced in the first four months of this year by about 40%, but optimism and ambitions of businessmen from both countries have remained the same. In order for export of Serbia's small economy to Russia to be made easier, a special company will be formed, 25% of which should be owned by the state. New company should provide assistance to those Serbian manufacturers that do not have their branch offices in Russia. This was announced on Friday in Moscow, at Russian-Serbian business dialogue.

On that occasion, the representatives of Serbia were Ivica Dačić, the Deputy Prime Minister, Vuk Jeremić, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Petar Škundrić, the Minister of Energy, Milan Krkobabić, the Vice President of Belgrade's Assembly... The hosts were led by Georgij Poltavčenko, the President's delegate in the central region of Russia.

- Relations with Russia represent a top-priority for Serbian Government. Our task is to stimulate greater export to Russia regardless of the economic crisis. Last year, the volume of trade exchange amounted to about 4 billion USD. The value of exchange of goods in the first four months of this year amounted to only 821m USD. We maintain brotherly relations with Russia, but it turns out that trading with brothers is the most dificult thing to do. Bureaucratic flaws deccelerate realization of everything we agree on. It is not logical, but it is true, that it is easier for some companies from the other countries to sell their goods and services in Serbia - said Ivica Dačić.

Georgij Poltavčenko pointed out that he was happy with the fact that the list of Russian companies that were coming to Serbia was growing. So far, petroleum has represented 50%, while gas represented 30% of Russia's export to Serbia. Decrease in prices of fuels in the global market automatically led to drop in value of export.
