This Alsatian white wine from 1472 has been tasted only three times, as determined by scientists from Burgundy and Munich.
It was first tasted in 1718 at the opening of the hospital building in Strasbourg. The second occasion took place in 1944 at the celebration of the city's liberation. In 1976, it was tasted for the third time during the celebration of the agreement on cooperation between Zurich and Strasbourg.
The wine was transferred to a stainless steel reservoir in 2014, and a year later it was returned to the wooden cask, where it could be preserved for the next 250 years.
France Bleu published photos of a huge wooden cask containing the wine and displaying the inscription of the year of production, 1472, on its website.
Other details about this wine have not been disclosed.
