"Hemofarm" signed first agreement on application of simplified customs procedure

The Customs Administration of Serbia announced today (June 2nd, 2009) that it had signed the first agreement on application of simplified customs procedure with company "Hemofarm" from Vršac.
Serbia has introduced that agreement because it wants to meet the demands of the economy sector and to make it possible for companies to operate more efficiently and more economically.
- There are many companies that are interested in participation in the programme of simplified procedures, and we will select certain number of those that submit the request after thorough analysis of their operations - the Customs Administration announced.
By introducing simplified customs procedures, the Customs Administration wants to back production companies that import reproduction materials, as well as exporters because they are very significant for the whole economy sector.
The Director of the Customs Administration, Predrag Petronijević, said that the agreement with "Hemofarm" was good example of cooperation and improvement of partnership relations between the state and commercial community.
He pointed out that that contributed to the growth of budget incomes and protection of domestic economy through improvement of its competitiveness in other markets.
The President of "Hemofarm", Miodrag Babić, said that the clearing procedure and the procedure for issuing of declarations would also be simplified and accelerated, as well as overall export operations, which was very significant to that company.
He added that "Hemofarm" imported raw materials for drugs, semi-finished products and equipment, but he pointed out that it exported products to four continents and that it was Serbia's largest exporter of drugs, with 779 export clearings during the first four months of year 2009.
Simplified procedures enable clearing outside the working hours, during the weekends or on holidays, outside the customs offices, and in the location determined by the company, in agreement with the Customs Administration.
Importers and exporters will be able to submit only one customs declaration on the first working day in the next week for all the goods imported or exported during one week, regardless of the number of deliveries.
