"Hemofarm" has sent the first shipment of drugs from Serbia to the USA.
Only few months after it obtained the prestigious FDA certificate from the US Food and Drugs Administration, the largest exporter of drugs in Serbia, "Hemofarm" Vršac, sent the first shipment of 283,500 bottles of Metilprednizolon to the USA.
- "Hemofarm" has obtained FDA for production and export of Metilprednizolon lyophilized injections in two-component bottles in two doses. The annual export plan amounts to 2.9m bottles of 40 mg and about 3.6m bottles of 125 mg. The first shipment was loaded on the truck in Vršac, and it is now on its way to the ship that will deliver it to the destination - a port in Virginia - said Dejan Ivanović, the Production Manager of "Hemofarm".
Metilprednizolon sodium succinate, also known under protected name of Lemod Solu in other markets, is scarce preparation in the USA. It will be offered to the market in America through company "Hospira" from Chicago, a strategic partner of "Hemofarm".
- "Hospira" is the largest supplier of medicaments to hospitals in the USA. Our deliveries will be regular, and one unit in Vršac will be constantly producing drugs only for the US market. In case of need, we will expand the capacities - said Dejan Ivanović.
