The Minister of Economy, Mlađan Dinkić, said yesterday
(March 25, 2009) in Novi Sad that that ministry had accepted the initiative of
the Executive Council of Vojvodina to exclude Port “Novi Sad” and the Novi Sad
Trade Fair from the privatization process.
According to the announcement from the yesterday’s meeting between Dinkić and
the President of the Executive Council of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, that
institution asked for exclusion of aforementioned companies from the
privatization process in December 2008.
The exclusion was asked based on the experiences of other European countries
when it comes to such type of companies.
- Both companies are of exceptional significance to the region, and the aim of determination of their future status is preservation of the reputation of regional Vojvodina’s brand – said Pajtić.
According to the announcement, the proposals for organizational and status transformation of Port “Novi Sad” and the Novi Sad Trade Fair should be made in Vojvodina, and they should be based on the experiences of such commercial organizations in the surrounding countries and Europe.
The proposal for resolving of the problem of debt of Dnevnik Holding, based on the request of the Executive Council of Vojvodina, will be forwarded to the Government of Serbia next week.
Dinkić presented the Predraft Law on Regional Development, which anticipates establishment of Vojvodina’s development agency, to the President of the Provincial Government. That agency will be authorized to accredit regional development agencies on its territory.
