Citizens of Serbia are increasingly buying online - Clothes, electrical equipment and books are the most common choice

Thisis the result of the latest survey of MasterIndex Serbia 2017, studies onfinancial habits and needs of active card users in the country.
Thestudy shows that every third buyer pays online at least once a month,Mastercard said.
Itemsthat are most frequently purchased are clothing (54% of respondents),electrical appliances (30%) and books (24%). Thisyear, food delivery also reached the list (8%), along with subscription to mediaservices (6%) and online fees (6%).
Whatis interesting is that citizens recognized Internet as a good replacement for queuing, as 51% of respondents said they paid online monthly bills online, which is asignificant jump from 18% in 2016.
Althoughpayment on delivery is still the most common method of payment, its use has decreasedfrom 47% to 43%. Paymentcards are used by 41% of respondents, while e-banking and m-banking are thepreferred method of payment for 29% of respondents.
- MasterIndexSerbia has shown that 70.7% of online customers are convinced of safety ofonline shopping - Jelena Ristic, director of Mastercard for the markets ofSerbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina said.
