The British government announced that the country's exit from the European Union would be carried out on March 29, 2019, at 11 pm, local time.

Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union David Davis stated that the date would be included in the amendment to the draft law on exiting the Union, currently being prepared by the Parliament, British media report.

– Our amendment makes it crystal clear that the UK is leaving the EU at 11 pm on March 29, 2019 – Davis says in a statement.

Certain MPs expressed their concern earlier about the Brexit date's not being specified by law.

– We've listened to members of the public and Parliament and have made this change to remove any confusion or concern about what 'exit day' means – the statement says.

The Federation of German Industries (BDI) believes that the EU and Great Britain will not be able to reach an all-encompassing agreement on future economic relation by the deadline of March 29, 2019, Reuters reports.

According to the estimate of the biggest German industrial group, it is highly likely that the so-called “hard” Brexit will occur.

– The two sides will need many years to complete a comprehensive deal on trade and investments – BDI Managing Director Joachim Lang told Reuters.
