Tender required for Ostružnica-Lajkovac highway - trade off for consortium "Alpine-Porr" would be illegal

Construction of any highway section in Serbia is impossible without previous announcement of the tender because the public competition is the only thing that is in the interest of citizens of Serbia.

Therefore, according to the words of economists, the latest proposal of Austrian consortium "Alpine-Porr" to build the highway section from Ostružnica to Lajkovac is unacceptable.

Economist Aleksandar Stevanović says for "Blic" that the doubt emerges whenever someone asks to do something without tender.

- The only question is whether the former Government signed some regulations on the basis of which the concessionaire can ask for certain privileges. That has not been allowed to anyone to check to the date, but anything against the interest of Serbia should not be accepted. How we will know that "Alpine-Porr" is the best bidder if we don't announce the tender - Stevanović concluded.
