None of the producers had had experience in the wine industry before they made this unique drink. Despite its artificial appearance, the unusual color is in fact fully natural, a result of the presence of anthocyanin, a pigment found in grapes, and indigo, a plant-extracted dye.
In order to achieve the unique hue, the producers cooperated with chemical engineers from the University of the Basque Country.
– Gik is not a blue wine, it’s a revolution – it is written on Instagram.
The brand is so revolutionary that it exists in the digital sphere only, and the company says that the internet is their true office.
The wine is made from a mixture of black and white grapes from French and Spanish wineries, and the producers says that it is an ideal accompaniment to guacamole or sushi.
Nevertheless, those who have had an opportunity to taste it are not happy with the taste, deeming it too rough.
