New technology for the first time in tunnel construction in Serbia - Completion of Resnik-Vreoci railroad by July 15

The reconstruction of the Belgrade-Bar railway on the section from Resnik to Vreoci where the Bela Reka tunnel is, and where for the first time in Serbia new technology was used - a rubber panel for reducing thickness of locomotive, has been in progress.

First Deputy Director of the RZD International branch in Serbia, Mansurbek Sultanov, said for Tanjug that the first stage of works will be completed within deadline and in line with works dynamics the admission committee should accept the works and release domestic and international traffic by July 15.

RZD International is reconstructing Bar railway on the section from Resnik to Valjevo, with a total length of 77 km, as well as a number of railway stations, and the works are funded through Russian loan and are implemented in two stages.

The second stage of works, from Vreoci to Valjevo, will begin September 3, after a break due to tourist season, and will be completed by January 2018.

RZD International has already begun preparations for the construction of the Belgrade-Budapest railroad, on the contracted section from Stara Pazova to Novi Sad, 44 km long. Here is the Cortanovci tunnel, and, as Sultanov says, the construction of a viaduct will also be a big undertaking.
