Pharmaceutical drugs from Serbia in the region – Hemofarm becomes the center of Stada for Southeastern Europe

The strategic reorganization of the German concern Stada has led to the formation of the Southeastern Europe group, which will be run by Hemofarm in the future, stated the CEO of Hemofarm, Ronald Seeliger in his interview for FoNet and emphasized that the Vrsac-based factory and Serbia as a whole would benefit from it.
Seeliger explained that the German concern, one of whose members is Hemofarm, had made strategic changes in order to improve efficiency and operations in all regions and emphasized that the change entailed his appointment as the vice president of Stada for Southeast Europe.
Until now, Stada was organized in three zones, Western Europe, Germany and the East, which was no longer sustainable due to changes in the world market, said Seeliger, which is why the decision on a different distribution of regional responsibilities has been made.
The decision envisions six regional zones, among which is the Southeastern Europe zone, to be run by Hemofarm, Seeliger specified and reminded that the Vrsac company had developed very successful operations in the past years.
The Stada shareholders have very clearly recognized Hemofarm as a company capable of running the Southeastern Europe operations, covering Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria and Romania.
– We will be the head company in this area, and I will be its head manager – Seeliger emphasized and explained that the territory in question included 10 or 11 countries and around 3,500 employees.
According to him, the change means that the production portfolio of Hemofarm will be harmonized with the markets of these countries, considering their individual peculiarities.
This, however, also means that Hemofarm's quality products, so far available in Serbia, B&H and Macedonia, will become available throughout the Southeastern Europe, Seeliger pointed out and said that he was proud of his team, as it had earned, through hard work, to be put in charge of the regional operations.
– This will also enable us to have a better marketing and promotional approach to the regional market – Seeliger announced and added that, for him personally, the change would not be so big, as his job would remain the same, but that he was happy that he would cooperate with colleagues in the region.
– We have already met several times and we've also had contacts with the governments of these countries – Seeliger said and predicted that the change would certainly strengthen Hemofarm's position.
Whereas many large companies in this area have either disappeared or reduced their presence, Hemofarm has remained, but now it will be able to solve difficulties and balance its operations more efficiently in a larger market.
– I am proud that Serbian drugs produced in Hemofarm's facilities will become available to people in all the countries of the region, which is also good news for Serbia – Seeliger pointed out.
The flag of Serbia's traditional pharmaceutical company will fly throughout the region, said Seeliger, who discussed Hemofarm's new position with representatives of the Government of Serbia as well.
They immediately saw what the possibilities and new perspectives were, not just thanks to Hemofarm's ties with the regional markets, pointed out Seeliger, but also due to his position as a president of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, which will also become more prominent.
All of this will contribute to connecting local industries and local markets, Seeliger concluded.
