USA approves Chinese acquisition of Syngenta – Acquisition value USD 43 billion

China National Chemical Corporation announced on August 22 that it had received clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States for the acquisition of the Swiss agrochemicals giant Syngenta.

The Chinese company's report says that the acquisition worth USD 43 billion still needs to be greenlighted by anti-monopoly and other regulatory authorities in the USA and elsewhere, Associated Press reports.

A successful realization of this transaction would be the largest ever foreign acquisition by a Chinese company.
