Eight world companies are interested in taking over the management or making a partnership with the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, among them the French VINCI and the German Fraport. The French Bouygues, which runs the airport in Zagreb, two companies from the United Arab Emirates and three companies from China are also interested.

Vecernje Novosti writes that the decision on the future manner of managing the Belgrade Airport hasn't yet been reached, and that the privatization adviser will most likely propose the calling a a tender for the concession of the Belgrade Airport, since the majority of such entities in the world function that way.

The best bidder would, by a concession act, run the Belgrade Airport in the next 25 to 30 years, although the period could be extended to a full 50 years. As the newspaper's source says, privatization is an alternative, and the third model, the least likely one, is a public-private partnership.

Vecernji Novosti writes that the possibility of the construction of a railway connecting the airport to the city is also being considered.
