Serbia is opening the first two chapters on EU membership

Today, almost two years after formal initiating of joining negotiations with EU, is opening two out of 35 chapters in negotiations on membership in EU. At the Intergovernmental conference in Brussels chapter 35 on normalization of relations with Pristina and 32 on financial control will open, and two parties, Serbia and EU, will exchange negotiation position.

Negotiations of the youngest EU member, Croatia, have lasted for six years and Montenegro started negotiations in 2012 and so far has opened 20 and temporarily closed two out of 35 negotiation chapters.

As Beta agency said in EU sources, the Committee of resident representatives, ambassadors of EU members has fully aligned starting points for chapters 32 and 35 which will be opened.
