Funds to Azvi through Novi Sad - New solution for continued construction of the Zezelj's bridge proposed

Solution for continuing construction of the Zezelj bridge in Novi Sad could be transferring money to a contractor, to Azvi company, through the budget of the City of Novi Sad, it was proposed at yesterday’s meeting at the Government of Serbia.

As it was stated in the announcement of the Ministry of construction, traffic and infrastructure of Serbia, representatives of provincial government, the Ministry of finance, Railways of Serbia and provincial Directorate for capital investments and the Bureau for the construction of the City of Novi SAD attended at the meeting on the Zezelj’s bridge

-Solution for transfer of provided funds to the contractor’s account, Azvi, must be found by April 27 since the company announced at that time halt of works if the problem is not solved – it was stated in the announcement of the Ministry.

It was added that the funds which was allocated at the budget of Vojvodina could be transferred to the contractor through the City of Novi Sad and not republic budget as suggested by the Provincial government since Serbia is not a signee of the basic contract and Vojvodina and Novi Sad are.

New deadline for bridge completion is 2016. Contractor is Spanish-Italian consortium Azvi-Tadei-Horta Koslada.
