Norway is planning to build 1,7 km long tunnel for ships at its west coast to avoid difficult passage through waters around Stada peninsula Visit Norway reports.

Even cruisers will be able to pass through the tunnel which will be 37 m high so that even the biggest ships of tourist and Hurtigruten freight line could use it.

Bad weather conditions often make passage of ships around peninsula more difficult and the project will contribute to increase in safety and water traffic.

It is estimated the construction project will cost EUR 115 m.
