Simpo can earn well? - In 10 years, state invested more than EUR 130 m in Vranje-based company

Simpo’s business and potential penetration to new markets were the topics discussed between the minister of trade, Zeljko Sertic and Vranje-based company management on Friday, February 13, 2015 where production started again in January after a halt.
- I hope Simpo will become a new pearl of economic development of Serbia – Sertic said. It will not be easy since the company went bankrupt. Therefore, debt conversion was carried out which made the state majority owner. Thus now, with the plans based on economic sustainable principles, Simpo could be profitable.
According to him, regardless of the support of the state of almost EUR 130 m in the past ten years, Simpo has been unprofitable.
The state is majority stakeholder at Simpo and new prerequisites for social program implementation were obtained. According to minister Sertic, the state set aside RSD 16 billion this year for social programs implementation.
