Chinese and Swedish interested in Simpo – Government is announcing solution for Vranje-based company in the fall

We have been negotiating with banks on debts reprogram and if everything runs smoothly in line with the realistic plan, Simpo will be sustainable by September. The company will be able to, from current profit, service all its monthly commitments to banks and trustees. Dragan Stevanovic, state secretary at the Ministry of trade is announcing this scenario for solving the problem of former Vranje-based giant, He claims that new business era is starting in Simpo, with different company functioning approach.
Stevanovic claims that implementation of economic recovery concept and leave of 1400 employees through social program will make Simpo much more attractive for potential investors
- Swedish investor is coming in Marc and Chinese partners have already showed interest – the state secretary is saying.
Stevanovic mentions that departments which have not been producing furniture but “brandy, chocolate and flowers ”will be set aside and offered for sale as separate entities.
-We have closed all that now. The Agency for privatization is however receiving interest also for other businesses, a farm in Vlasina and for nurseries.

Reps of Healthcare CO.LTD", which is interested in investing in Simpo attended the Summit in Belgrade in mid-December.
- They said they want expansion of their activity in the furniture field in Serbia. The Swedish have been showing interest in Simpo as well and talks are due with them next month.
