Are truck producers going to pay penalties for price setup?

European truck producers have been operating joined in the cartel for 14 years so that they would halt progress in implementation of technology which decreases hazardous exhaust gases emission, documents which EC received show, Marketnetwork.rs portal reports.

According to the documents, DAF, Iveco, Scania, Volvo and MAN agreed and mutually increased prices during implementation of technology which requires Euro 3 standard. None of the companies mentioned commented media reports in EU on this topic.

If it is proved truck producers joined into a cartel, they will have to pay penalties totaling ten percent of their annual profit. It is interesting that German Daimler last year booked EUR 600 m so that it would cover for potential penalty costs in this investigation, portal Marketnetwork.rs portal reports.
