Overview
The Irig municipality, one of the smallest in Vojvodina, covers the area of 230 km². The town of Irig is the Vojvodina’s highest municipal administrative centre. The municipality includes another 12 settlements: Vrdnik, Dobrodol, Satrinci, Jazak, Grgeteg, Neradin, Krušedol Selo, Krušedol, Prnjavor, Rivica, Mala Remeta, and Velika Remeta.
Irig is 60 km away from Belgrade International Airport and 20 km away from Novi Sad.
Population
This multi-ethnic municipality has a population of 12,329. As of 2005, there were 8,090 person of working age, 1,894 of whom were unemployed.
Economy
The main driving force of structural changes in the municipality economy, with its great impact on the other branches of economy, is agriculture. In this branch of economy, grape growing is of particular importance, and the Municipality is famous for it. Main branches of industrial development include food processing, metalworking, and construction materials industry. The development of food-processing industry is based on fruit and grape processing, production of fodder and communal slaughterhouse. Metalworking industry is primarily concentrated in Vrdnik.
Infrastructure
The Irig Municipality is well connected to major communication routes. The most important road route is the M 21 motorway (Novi Sad-Ruma-Šabac), and principal R 130 road (Beška-Irig-Beočin). Belgrade International Airport is 50 km away, and the Injdjija-Ruma-Sremska Mitrovica railway route is 12 km away.
Tourism
The national park “Fruška Gora” occupies the major part of the municipal territory, being one of the most attractive places in Serbia, and the whole region. The greatest tourist potentials are found in spa tourism -”Thermal” rehabilitation center in the village of Vrdnik. Village tourism is beginning to grow, especially in Jazak settlement (the Jazak ethno house). Eight monasteries on the territory of the Municipality make this area particularly attractive.

Total area: 162 ha 18 a, of which 134.09 ha is intended for building of industrial plants
Type of ownership: 23 ha is owned by the Municipality, the remaining land is private property
Intended use: Construction of industrial plants or structures for small-scale industry, warehouses, petrol stations and agriculture
Site description
The site is located near the M 21 principal road. Currently, there are eight companies operating in this Industrial Zone.
Infrastructure
The site has access to power and water supply systems. Main gas pipeline and sewer reticulation are being designed. Access road network within the site is planned to be constructed following the lease of construction land.
Additional information
Land lease (the property of the Municipality) for the period of 99 years for construction and 20 years for agriculture is possible.
All the required permits and approvals for construction on the site could be obtained within 60 days. The required planning and regulatory documentation already exists, such as Irig General Development Plan, and the Master Plan of a part of the Irig Industrial Zone.
