Two Serbian Startups Before American Investors
A delegation consisting of 10 startups from the Balkans is visiting the American cities of Phoenix, Denver, Portland and New York in February in order to present local innovative ideas to potential investors. Among them are two Serbian startups with a great potential – Dr. Knight and Klik.
The USA tour is realized as part of the project of the Montenegrin DigitalDen incubator, with the support of the State Department and the US Embassy in Podgorica.
DigitalDen is realizing its first startup tour in the USA until February 26.
– This is a way for the Balkans to enter the global market, on whose door it has already knocked thanks to the Montenegrin Tech and Startup Bridge (MTSB) project, initiated in late October last year, when the team of Digital Den traveled for the first time to America and had over 40 meetings with potential partners. This is an economic-technological bridge between Montenegro, the region and the United States of America in the field of innovations and entrepreneurship in the IT sector – says the announcement by DigitalDen.
The first group, which is currently touring America, consists of 10 startups from Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
When it comes to Serbian representatives, Dr. Knight is a new, fully “green” polymer material which helps people prevent having their clothes accidentally colored when being washed, and what makes it innovative are the entirely new patented material and the technology which entails environmental friendliness, re-use, efficiency and a multipurpose, functional design.
Klik, as said, is an efficient, inclusive and safe ecosystem of digital payment which supports various needs and possibilities of individuals and companies, through a custom local technology and integration with third parties.
The DigitalDen hub is host to the best innovators of the Western Balkans, which will have the opportunity to present their best ideas to investors, incubators, angel investors, venture capital funds, universities and big companies in America. The Montenegro-Balkans-USA project will function in both directions, so the implementation of startups from the USA in Montenegro has already been agreed, as well as the arrival of numerous mentors and investors to the region.
