Hotel, business and trade center on location of former Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs
Swiss company "Private project managament" has signed the contract with the Republic Directorate for Property on procurement of building of former Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs in 92 Kneza Miloša Street in Belgrade for price of 34.5m EUR.
The Manager of that company for Serbia and Balkans, Žarko Pavlović, stated that the whole amount would be paid within 30 days, as well as that the request for building permit would be submitted to the Assembly of City of Belgrade immediately after the payment.
The building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will not be torn down, but renovated and turned into the business center. "The building will be renovated and one more floor will be built on it, while the hotel with 300-400 rooms will be built on the place where laboratory and garage were. If we reach the agreement about the purchase of the leaning ruined facility in Sarajevska Street, a trade center will be built on that location, so that the entire surface of the facility will exceed 160,000 square meters", said Pavlović.
- The value of the entire investment ranges between 100 and 150m EUR", said he.
The first-ranked on the tender for purchase of the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was “Soravia group", which offered price of 35.05m EUR, while the second-ranked bidder "Private project management" offered 34.5m EUR. "Soravia group" was declared the winner on the tender, but was later disqualified by the Directorate because it set additional condition that the amount be paid after issuing of certain licenses, which was not acceptable to the Directorate.
