Pariguz still dreams about investors - The Italians showed the biggest interest for the construction of the tourist complex on Rakovica Lake

If ever announcements of municipal authorities on the construction of the sports and tourist complex at the Pariguz coast come true, Rakovica could get a summer resort which will be competitive to Ada Ciganlija.
Pariguz is, apart from Ada, the nearest lake to Belgrade but many do not even know it exists. It is not surprising when you take into the account the fact that it has been abandoned for a long time and “decorated” with waste as well as that there is no a real road which would lead there.
The artificial accumulation originated in the eighties after the Resnik dam construction, is some 17 kilometers far from the capital.
Since there is no doubt that Pariguz, despite all of that, has excellent potential for tourism development, its development is grouped among the priority projects of the Rakovica municipality.
The local authorities made one of the first steps last year. The Feasibility study of the sports and tourist complex was funded. Apart from that, Detailed Regulation Plan development has started. It will define parameters for the construction at the area around the lake and it should be adopted in a year, the Rakovica municipality representatives say for eKapija.
The local authorities expect that by that time they will manage to deal with the crucial burning issue – cleaning and construction of the sewerage system ( at this moment, waste water from septic pits of local households flows in the lake). Since the municipality does not have sufficient funds, they expect support of the city and republic authorities. The Jaroslav Cerni Institute designed the project of lake cleaning and bed rehabilitation and it is necessary to set aside some EUR 150.000 for the works.
- The plan is to offer land around the lake for the construction of the sports and
recreation complex. In order to do that, we need the Detailed regulation plan
which will regulate construction terms – municipal representatives say for our
portal.
The preliminary design of the complex which was previously done, an area of 11,7ha was comprised. Three zones were defined – coast development, sports complex with additional facilities as well as tourist complex (a hotel, a restaurant, etc.). It is estimated that it will be necessary to set aside EUR 15 mil for the construction of the entire complex (on 1000 m2) with the costs for land purchase (since all lots are privately-owned.
The suggestion of the municipality to plan biking and pedestrian paths should be planned from Ada Ciganlija to Avala was adopted. These paths should, actually, would go from Ada to Topciderska reka then along Pariguz and to the settlement under Avala, Pinnosava, to Avala at the end.
The most difficult question is left for the end – will there ever be sufficient funds for that? The citizens of Resnik were promised the Pariguz lake maintenance by many authorities and only talks and empty hope remained.
Local self-governance representatives say they discussed it with potential investors and that the Italians and a few domestic investors showed the biggest interest. However, all of this stays at the informal talk level.
