Lake at Smederevska Palanka as a new summer weekend destination - Kudrec could get villas, hotel, trim paths, welness center

When the summer comes, every place in Serbia, located at any water, is fantasizing about new tourist complexes, swimming pools, aqua parks, etc. Smederevska Palanka, mostly known for the Palanacki kiseljak source is thus hoping it could become a new summer tourist destination for the Kudrec lake. New Detailed regulation plan of the lake implies construction of trim and cycling paths,summer stage, sports courts, villas for renting, smaller hotels, wellness centers,etc. Apart from that, development and equipping of the beach, bathroom building,etc.

Of course, it has to be taken into an account that it is a spa area, i.e.Palanacki Kiseljak.

Kudrec is one of the main getaways of the citizens, both of fishermen (becauseit is very rich in fish) and, during hot days, of swimmers. Still, the lake coasts are completely undeveloped. There are no walking paths for walks of recreation, there is no lightning or facilities where the visitors would rest. When it comes to accommodation facilities, there is only the Jezero hotel. Allof that prevents Kudrec positioning as a location interesting for tourists from other parts of the country.

Therefore, municipality decided to take the first step when it comes to potential of Kudrec development as a tourist attraction and initiates development of plan documentation. As the representatives of the local self-governance say, although as for now there are no certain investors, location development provides a chance for them in the future. Having in mind all potentials and attractions of Kudrec, first of all when it comes to fishing tourism have reason to believe that the lake at the edge of the Smederevska Palanka could become interesting for many.

These days, the Kudrec lake gathered many citizens of Palanka, we found out at the local tourist organization. There is an increasing number of swimmers, Olivera Stanosevic from the local tourist organization says for eKapija.

- Smederevska Palanka is mainly known for the Kiseljak spa and when it come to tourist sites, there is the Pinosava monastery in Kusdak, the old church in Selevac, park forest Mikulja and of course the Kudrec Lake – our collocutor says.

Accommodation capacities are what this town some 80 km far from Belgrade lacks.

Hotel on the lake in search for a buyer

The Jezero hotel has been on sales for a while but a buyer for it has not been found. The facility has been offered within the reorganization of Smederevska Palanka-based Vodoprivreda and Erste bank as mortgage trustee, released the advertisement.

A couple of days ago, Erste bank confirmed for eKapija that real estate is still on sales.

Paths, wellness, beach

Arandjelovac-based Infoplan developed the detailed regulation plan draft of the Kudrec lake and the document is now available for the public inspection (as of July 30), Dejan Djordjevic from PC Palanka says for eKapija.

The Palanka territory comprises four lakes which originated through river and springs beds regulation. These lakes are the Kudrec lake 1 and 2, the PinosavaLake (Pinosavsko) and the Vlaskodolsko jezero.

Three spatial units offer options of differ spatial and facility development and equipping: the Kudrec lake, zone for residing in function of tourism and zones for sport and recreation.

Facilities planned within the zones are: city beach, summer stages and outdoor amphitheatre, health facilities as a supplement to spa treatment in Palanacki Kiseljak (expansion of health and commercial offer, fitness centers, beauty spas, etc.). Then, sports courts are planned, kids’ playground or entertainment park. In the tourist one atra, there is the Jezero hotel and the plan implies its capacities expansion options.

Along the part which is not along the lake, there is an option for the construction of new pensions, villas or hotels as well as wellness centers.There is also room for new greenery and grass areas development.

The Kudrec lake area is a valuable while when it comes to the environmental protection. It is essential to preserve forest and water resources, biodiversity and area features in order to maintain sustainable development, authors of the Detailed regulation plan outline.
