Holiday Inn hotel building in Novi Sad legalized

The Assembly of Novi Sad yesterday decided to legalize the Holiday Inn building in Bulevar Evrope St., it was confirmed for eKapija at the Assembly of Novi Sad.

As we were told at Aleksandar gradnja, the company which built the facility, the problem appeared in forming two last floors.

- According to the plan, the facility had eight floors and two withdrawn and nine was built while one was withdrawn. The problem emerged because ninth floor was not withdrawn – representatives of Aleksandar gradnja explained..

As the company representatives said for eKapija, in one-month time it will be known when the hotel will open.

The construction of the Holiday Inn hotel started four years ago when it was announced that , Aleksandar gradnja will pour EUR 11 mil in the project.

With a big delay, the building was finished in 2013 but the hotel did not open so far. In the meantime, police arrested a few people who, as it was said, ried to legalize the building violating the law.

The group which was arrested included a few members of the Commission for plans and employees at PC Urbanizam as well as the employed at the City administration for urbanism. Former director of ZIG, Borislav Novakovic, owner of Aleksanda gradnja, Vojislav Gajic and the owner of the meat industry Matijevic, Petar Matijevic were also arrested for suspicious sale o the lot the hotel was built on.
