The Carine company has submitted a request for permit to build a hotel in the center of Podgorica to the Ministry of Sustainable Development of Montenegro.

With the request for building permit, Carine's owner Popovic enclosed preliminary designs and the consent for the construction his company received from the Assembly of floor owners, given that the hotel should be built next to the hospitality facility Carine in Ulica Slobode Street which is located on the ground floor of the building.

– The hotel entrance would be from Hercegovacka Street. That part was not used and the construction of the city hotel was planned by the comprehensive land-use plan long time ago. Carine would thus improve the overall offer and, according to current preliminary designs, the hotel would have 30 rooms, maybe less – the owner of the Carine company, Cedomir Popovic, said for the daily Dan.

He said not much of the funds would be invested in the hotel construction.

– We will first obtain all the necessary documentation for the construction. When we finish that, we will see whether it is profitable to build a hotel. We still do not know when and whether we will start the construction – Popovic said and added that the center of Podgorica is not crowded as it was during the previous years.

Popovic opened Carine at the city center in 2005 and the facility comprised cafes, restaurants and super markets. Business was flourishing at the beginning but later now it was on a decrease. He opened the Carine restaurant in another part of the city across the Moraca.

A year ago, preliminary designs were unveiled for the hotel complex which the Carine company could build in Baosici near Herceg Novi.
